Job Summary

Today, the custom-built applications running the Global 2000 and other software-lead companies are maintained based on incomplete and scattered knowledge of their inner workings. At the same time, businesses face perennial high attrition and developers working from anywhere, while striving to accelerate the pace of digital transformation and modernize their core applications for cloud.

CAST leads the emerging market category of Software Intelligence – insights into the inner workings of critical custom-built applications. Its technology automatically derives the intelligence and puts it at the fingertips of all who need it. Its flagship product, CAST Imaging, provides the unique ability to automatically reverse engineer the actual architecture and intra-dependencies of a given application and act as an always-up-date ‘living knowledgebase’ of the software internals.

We are looking for a hands-on, digital media savvy communications specialist, who understands the world of software engineering, to educate application owners about the need and benefits of using software intelligence, and help create market pull for such ‘living knowledge bases’ of software internals.

The successful candidate will report to our CMO, work extensively with the VPs of Product Marketing, leverage the CAST executive team, and collaborate with the rest of the Marketing organization.

The position is based in our NYC office (Broadway & 41th), with possibility for hybrid home/office schedule. Out of tri-state area candidates will be considered given flexibility to be in NYC office with reasonable regularity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the communication strategy for promoting software intelligence.
  • Build a roadmap for evangelizing software intelligence and educating the target audience on its benefits for accelerating software change and modernization.
  • Identity blogs, forums, publications, third party influencers, and any other relevant channels used by application business owners and engineering leaders in the Global 2000 and software-lead companies.
  • Establish relationships with technology and business storyteller journalists, relevant digital media outlets and influencers, to drive target audience education and CAST brand awareness.
  • Execute tactics to dramatically raise coverage of software intelligence and its benefits via those channels.

The end-game objective for the successful candidate is to create market pull for software intelligence and CAST Imaging.

Requirements

  • You can put a new concept on the map.
  • You have 7+ years of experience in communications and/or as a technical/business journalist.
  • You understand the world of software engineering and custom-built applications.
  • You feel at home in the realm of Web 2.0 / digital / social.
  • You know how to influence the technical and business media outlets and the stories they tell.
  • You can express clearly complex technical concepts to less technical audience.
  • You don’t wait for things to come to you – you make things happen.
  • You can write, you can think, you can do, and you don’t mind occasionally doing menial work.
  • You can synthesize and organize.

Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000 + bonus
