The Best Software Analysis and Measurement Engine Just Got Better

by

In this era of big data, analytics has become an invaluable tool for IT organizations to succeed. Not only for ensuring a high quality product, but also keeping your customers safe from malicious hackers and application crashes. Despite the obvious need, some executives struggle with the business case for proper software analytics and opt for skunk-work metrics that are less accurate and more expensive.

That’s why for the newest release of our Application Intelligence Platform -- AIP 7.3 -- we focused on making an enterprise software analysis and measurement program more streamlined, informative, and customizable. You can read more about the newest release of AIP in a release we put out this morning, but we wanted to highlight some of the most important new capabilities here on the blog.

One of the most powerful features added to AIP 7.3 is the ability to automatically process new classes of dynamic links when identifying transactions in applications. This is very important in function point counting, as it greatly reduces set-up time and calibration. We also expanded the API capabilities allowing organizations to integrate action plans made within the platform directly into their third-party dashboards or bug-tracking software. These new capabilities are aimed at giving project leads and their teams an easy-to-follow workflow so they can stay focused on IT innovation rather than manual function point counting and bug-tracking upkeep.

The Application Analytics Dashboard (AAD) was also updated with new ways for IT organizations to filter applications and quality measures using defined user roles, keeping teams focused on the software verticals most important to them. Also new to AIP 7.3 is the ability for an organization to incorporate external metrics -- anything from number of errors in production, man-hours invested, or data pulled from third-party bug tracking tools -- directly into the AAD.

This release is poised to make high-quality software metrics more integrated through our new API, less complex to set-up and customize, and easier than ever to automate. AIP 7.3 is a vital tool for application owners and vice presidents of development that want to turn their development team into an engine for innovation rather than a bug-tracking maintenance crew. If you’d like to learn more about our Application Intelligence Platform, you can schedule a personal demo to see how the dashboard can help your organization centralize its application data in one dashboard.
