The CAST Workshop & Training Event brings software measurement practitioners from across the globe for training and knowledge sharing on software analytics.

Software measurement professionals and CAST consultants will share insights and case studies on the topic of: Automation, Measurement during DevOps, Consumption and converting analytics into actionable value, Cloud readiness, Automated function points and Identifying and managing technical debt.

These interactive sessions are designed to be a technical knowledge exchange and best practice sharing among practitioners. If there are specific topics you wish to discuss, please let us know.

Following the presentations, please join us for a rooftop happy hour & networking reception – located across the street at The Plant, 321 W 44th St, Flr 11 from 5:30 – 8:30pm.

Featured Speakers


Frederic Schmitt works for IBM France as an Executive and Director of Software Quality & Automated Function Point Center of Excellence (SQ/APF CoE.) He specializes in quality, sizing measurement and software analytics to improve business value of his clients. Frederic brings decades of experience in application development, maintenance, integrated operations and CMMi consulting. He’s worked with clients such as Cofinoga, BNPP Paribas, CMA-CGM, Safran, Michelin, SNCF, EDF, Carrefour, etc.


Alan has more than 25 years of professional experience in product integration and system engineering. At Fannie Mae, Alan manages application code quality and operations in an Agile environment to ensure the complete quality of the organization’s application portfolios.


Phillip Crenshaw is Vice President and Sector Lead for CGI’s U.S. Insurance, Healthcare and Regulatory Solutions Groups and has overall responsibility for the groups’ strategy, sales, product development, and operations. Mr. Crenshaw represents the US strategic business unit on CGI’s Global Application Services Council, driving best practices around methodologies, tools, and practices in application management and also serves on the CGI Insurance Industry Growth Council. He has experience in all aspects of outsourcing including global delivery, application services, infrastructure, BPO, BPaaS and consulting.


Joe Masseria leads the Code Quality Initiative within the Shared Services group at Credit Suisse, managing a global team to analyze applications for code quality throughout their life cycle and to provide static analysis of source code, calculation of metrics and rules violations. He manages onboarding and analyzing all IB applications and will create a "Business as Usual" structure for continued future analysis. Joe’s team works to generate reports to discern best practices can be invoked along with what violations will be addressed in subsequent releases. Joe focuses on the goal to leverage the proficiencies gained over time in application robustness, transferability and technical quality to reduce over TCO (Total Cost of Ownership.)


Michael Synn is a results-oriented, highly motivated IT leader and technical professional with 25+ years of experience in leading large IT transformations. His experience includes major strategic business and technology initiatives to deliver new product offerings, enhanced business processes and optimized total cost of ownership.
