CAST helps software vendors to better customize, integrate and upgrade vendor software

The CAST Application Intelligence Platform:
- Produces technical documentation of the internal structure of a vendor’s base
line applications, and of custom code and interactions between custom code base
line applications or APIs. This facilitates knowledge acquisition by customers and
maintenance of their information system.
- Detects changes between the original core application and the customized application,
or between a patched and un-patched version of an application.
- Helps identify the impacts of upgrades or patches on the custom
code built by the customer*.
- Helps estimate the costs associated with impact mitigation work.
- Measures the quantity and quality of custom code produced by internal or outsourced
teams between versions.
- Monitors the compliance of custom applications to market standards, software vendors’
requirements for upgrade facilitation, or customer-specific development and architecture
rules.
- Facilitates compliance and quality improvements by generating lists of non-compliant
objects and technical documentation to facilitate remediation.
- Facilitates adoption of new software modules from vendor by helping identify which
part of existing custom applications should be kept, suppressed, or modified and
what the impact of such modifications are.
